I’m not using any AUR helper.

Preparing a build directory

It’s good practice to keep all AUR packages in a dedicated location. This makes updating and managing them later much easier.

Example:

mkdir -p ~/Builds/aur

Installing Heroic

Clone the AUR repository

cd ~/Builds/aur && git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/heroic-games-launcher-bin.git

Enter the downloaded repository

cd heroic-games-launcher-bin

Inspect the PKGBUILD

Before building the package, you should inspect the PKGBUILD. You don’t need to understand every line — just look for anything suspicious, such as unusual downloads, redirects, or embedded scripts.

Build and Install

makepkg -si

Launching Heroic

You can launch Heroic Games Launcher from your desktop environment’s application menu (GUI).
